I'm Katie, an editor and stylist in New York.
What I can do for you: I specialize in editorial and creative direction for brands. I help reach and engage audiences with content strategies that bring products to life. I create compelling imagery and cohesive copy that works across channels, sprinkling storytelling fairy dust on your brand if you will.
Where I’ve been: As a Senior Style Editor I conceptualized and styled stories for Martha Stewart Living and Martha Stewart Weddings magazines. I fell in love with the creation process: from the big idea to the final special details. It was a good thing.
In 2011 I co-founded For the Makers, a small but beloved platform for DIY supplies and tutorials. It was an early innovator in building an e-commerce experience around editorial content. I've spoken at South by Southwest Interactive about creating and connecting online maker communities.
I wrote Make a Statement: 25 Jewelry and Accessory Projects in 2015 and I've designed for retailers like Anthropologie, Club Monaco, and Target.
I have a soft spot for radishes, Alex Katz paintings, vermouth, lilacs, summer thunderstorms, last minute get-togethers, and tinned fish. I live in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn with my scientist husband. If you're into weddings you can find ours here. There were a lot of insects.
